“No profound and popular movement in all history has taken place without its share of filth, without adventurers and rogues, without boastful and noisy elements ruling party inevitably attacks careerists” this is a quote from Vladimir Lenin and I’m borrowing it to illustrate the extent of corrupt elements in the NRM.

The reason why I use the quote above is that it’s the best thing from a communist which would bring about a conclusive meaning to the state of affairs in the ruling NRM.

Some time back in this very blog I wrote about the need for the ruling movement to combat liberalism which was eating up all its leadership structures from the village level to the national and just few months away from the NSSF saga has exposed all elements in the movement as illustrated by Vladimir Lenin

The NRM cadres have been found to be out of line on two issues that have rocked the country  recently one being the arrest of the Buganda Kingdom minister and now the new hot seat candidate is the general secretary said to have sold his land over and above the normal price which any human being would have done  give the  chance but since during their policy meetings NRM delegates do more of city touring than engage in real policy issues separation of power between the executive and their party leadership did not come to any conclusive meaning finding themselves with a jack of all traders as the general secretary, an MP, minister of defense and a business man who in many cases sounds like he is beyond reproach

The comments made by the chairman to Members of his movement that he will fight rebel members after the parliament was forced into a special session during the saga when Buganda cabinet ministers where arrested show how much gap is between the Executive of the movement and its ordinary party card carrying members and the chairman would know better that the liberal conditions created by him would encourage cadres of the movement advance their personal ambition rather than party and if I was a senior member of the movement I would be worried by such comments because that’s how USSR was disintegrated by just one word from then leader of the ruling party

The NRM has had to win many battles from the old bush war to changing the constitution thou the changes damaged many people along the line but the NRM won the fight this has always been achievable as a collective, but the NSSF issue that involves the general secretary seems like the moment people have been waiting for, true they might survive as a party the will wait as it will be reflected in the general elections but individuals are going to pay the price and how much price is one willing to pay for his or her party where individual merit counts is another days talk

But for the party to gain urban confidence which is elusive to them should quickly move to

Have the general secretary removed this is not to pre-empty the on going parliamentary processes but to ensure that some one take over as the new acting general secretary on full time basis and can effectively unite members of the movement

This will be an effective signal that the ruling party is ready to fight corrupt elements even with in their ranks and would send clear signals that its time to do what the book of Luke:12:8 says “To whom much is given Much is expected” they always claim receiving majority votes the people’s expectation is much service delivery of basic services.

For this life we celebrate today, I’ve borrowed the words used by Cain when the lord asked him where Abel is thy brother.”

As you will remember, Cain answered, I know not am i’ not my brother’s keeper, it would  seem to me that the tragedy death that confronted us  that evening presented to us the challenge to answer the question am I my brother’s and sister’s keeper?

Dad was a wonderful human being, I’m certain that the thought would never have occurred to him that he could be anything except his brother’s ,sister’s and children’s keeper he spent all his life’s worth as a royal family member who treated every one with deserving respect

As we celebrate his life we can say with out fear of contradiction is that he was a scholar, an intellectual, and a teacher immensely cultured person with no trace whatsoever of arrogance, of self-importance, a rare leader who rose from a humble background to become one of the best in the education sector

First it was hour, to days and now its years we you went to rest and you never again woke up that moment made all of us look like Abel because we could not answer to the question since we cant not tell what happened when you got into that bedroom like Abel we still bear the pain of not answering the question with out contradiction

But I would love to let you know how we are doing dad because a lot has happen while you are gone and I will begin with your loving wife who has now retired from the civil service it would have been nice for you to share this time with her since she would have become a full time house wife but since you are gone she decided to use her spare time for adult education programme in her community and she is still the saved person you always known her to be

The big man who took over from you dad is married with a son so that would make u utate mukhulu and he has dedicated all his life to the wellbeing of disfranchised communities it taking him places and I guess you would take pride in his work

Me as always I have less to write home about since I’m still very single but my temper has improved I have done anger management course and learnt that dialogue is much better than boiling off my head all the time and some times u don’t have to fight to be a man I guess I accepted that too late oops dad one more thing I’m not the small boded   arrogant man but I have grown to be gentle

For your daughter she got married with two kids and doing well in business that explains why u would be a busy utate mukhulu and I’m sure the miss the hug and all the love from you, James also got married with a very jolly daughter funny thing thou I have not seen the gal since I have been away ever since she was born but I will soon make the journey home to meet her

The last one Paul who never got to share life moments with you is now a grown man working with one credit bank his missing you was much displayed on his graduation day and he still talking about you dearly but between me and Robert we have played the fatherly figure you should have been around to see how gentle he has become

Like we all have someday basket and I’m sure all of us keep this in our some day basket   to meet you and ask you the questions we have always wanted you to answer hopefully the reunion will fill up the missing link.

May you keep resting in peace.

This weekend was equally a cold one and as i have always done decided to stay inside the house for Friday evening and the whole part of saterday,  during that time i spent hours watching rugby and chating with my online friends both in the monitor chat and my yahoo messager yes u had me right i’m  always into that chat simply because i have friends who i think i should link up with once in a while.

But one young lady (not under age thou) but a young adult i have not hard from since march came online and after we exchanged greetings we got on with a general chat about life asked her if she is already at school no i’m not yet school opens in august and i’m looking forward to it thou i’m not sure what i would want to study at the moment.

i have always wondered i have been a suspected of being married but i just keep on refusing to accept that i’m married so she asked me how is my wife to which and i informed her that i have no wife yet and for the record people i would openly state it when i do get married that i’m married b’se its some thing i think every one would take pride in so i’m still not married but will be soon and since she knows i have a bit of a temper she let go of such and we kept talking.

and soon the talk went down to God this young adult asked me if i do not think is God and creation story was a whole make of some people some where and we needed to think out side the box about it for once i was shocked reason people in thier 20s call me old fashioned but would not think of such, thier thinking would always be around that new song from thier loved singers, buying ipods not taking it to the level of creation of investiging the whole creation story.and for once she asked me what my thinking was and to be honest i have openly refused to think outside the box i would hate to question alot of things less i find myself questioning why i have no tail

But her argument was simple if he decided to create me in his own image and afforded me the brains its just enough for me to think outside the box and question some of the many issues around me.

we might be young , but how many time in our lives do we take that effort to think outside the box and how do u manage this form of thinking bacause at times u might be at risk thinking like one groom who decided to organised  his people to mug his Abokhoni  (Negotiator)and is group  this happened as the group was headed to the bride’s side this past weekend

As the Abokhoni where on thier way to the girls side a group of thugs intercepted Interestingly, the thugs did not waste time searching all six of them

They went straight to the guy who carried the booty, making off with the money. Curious, the other members of the party thought as they later sat down to review the day’s events. How had the criminals known who was carrying the money?

It transpired that the groom, who had stayed at home while his emissaries went about their mission, as per tradition, had masterminded the mugging. He had told the thugs that the man with the money would be wearing a white coat

But there are limits, brothers. Robbing lobolo of its dignity is like a Jew urinating inside the synagogue, or a Seventh Day Adventist drinking alcohol on the Sabbath, or a Muslim eating pork inside the mosque. Peace, hope u manage thinking out side the box with your heart rather than head

We stand for active ideological struggle because it is the weapon for ensuring unity within the party and the revolutionary organizations in the interest of our fight.Every communist and revolutionary should take up this weapon but this is not taken on by the so many revolutionary movements including the movement in Uganda opting for Liberalism which rejects ideological struggle and stands for unprincipled peace, thus giving rise to a decadent, phlilistine attitude and bringing about political degeneration in certain units and individuals in the part and revolutionary organization as demostrated by movement Mp during and after the arrest of Buganda kingdome officals.

For many years the movement for the sake of peace with in thier party and friendship have let things slide off even when a person has clearly gone wrong, and refrain from principled arguments because he is an old acquaintance, schoolmate or an old subordinate or to touch on the matter lightly instead of going into thoroughly.so as to keep on good terms, the result is that both the organization and the individual are harmed like in case of Kakooza Mutale who would say any thing and non of the top leadership tells him where to get off

Cadres of the Moverment now have resorted to irresponsible criticism both in  private and public instead of actively putting forward one’s suggestion to the organization.people have decided to say nothing during face to face sessions with thier leadership but gossip behind thier backs and are showing no regard for all the principles of collective life but to follow one’s own inclination as it was the case with the NRM vice president for Eastern region who went on to critic the general secretary for not providing quality leadership

Many members both party card  carrying and non  carrying ones have let things drift if they do not affect one personally to say as little as possible while knowing perfectly well what is wrong,to be worldly wise and play safe and seek only to avoid blame b’se M7 knows arresting people appointed by the Kabaka is more less arresting the kabaka himself and he decides to play safe by use of many other words to avoid blame.

To indulge in personal attacks has been the order of the day by movement cadres they pick quarrels, vent personal spite or seek revenge instead of entering into an argument and struggling against incorrect views for the sake of unity or porgress or getting the work done properly a case in point is Kigundu the former newvision editor and one an Mp who tried to raise issues and ended  into a road rage that almost took his life till today there a talk doing the round that this was just a vent for his hardline principles even when he was one of them

To day we all know the the land bill will harm the interests of the masses either for or aganist it, but the leadership yet not feel indignant,or dissuade or stop every one is aware there is a mistake and yet make no attempt to correct them, taking a liberal attitude towrds oneself.

Liberalism is extremely harmful in a revolutionary collective.its a corrosive which eats away unity, undermines cohesion, causes apathy and creates dissension.it robs the revolutionary ranks of compact organization and strick displine, prevents policies from being carried through and alienates the party organizations from the masses  which the party leads.it is an extremely bad tendency

Liberalism stems from petty-bourgeois selfishness,it places personal intersts first and the interests of the revolution second, and this gives rise to ideological, political and organizational liberalism

People who are liberals look upon the principles of marxism as abstract dogma. They approve of marxism, but are not prepared to practice it or practice it in full;they are not prepared to replace thier liberalism by marxism These people have thier marxism, but they have thier liberalism as well they talk marxism but practice liberalism they apply marxism to others but liberalism to themselves.they keep both kindsof goods in stock and find a use for each.this is how the mind of certain people work

Its been some time since i last had a real good chance to write and post some thing and i would not call it having been busy because that would mean complete lack of planning from my side so i will beg to call it poor access to my old pc, But ihave been up and down and alot has happened in my life as well including that trip to Gweru that had alot of people close to me regarding it as my risk of the year and i will not detail the trip but Gweru is the last place u would want to leave in.

Over the passed week  i lost my friend to HIV/AIDS,like many people infected she has given the fight all she had until her last day This great lady we all foundly called comrade because she always related HIV/AIDS to many other liberation struggles that have claimed lives so was HIV/AIDS hence her aggressive nature in the fight knowing that some fighters will make over and some will not  i remember two years the doctor told her that her CD4 count was at a required level to start the treatment she refused with all the pleading from every one close to her and her simple explanation was there so many people around the global that require comprehesive care and treatment and cant access such service and in so doing she  said i want every one of u close to me to keep experiancing what thier loved ones and familes go through every day this would keep you fighting for more when i’m home and dry she would only treat orpportunistic inffections

So on  saterday i made my way to the cemetery for her funeral which was attended by many of her other comrades the singing was befitting of a comrade  but one shocking experiance is how busy the grave yard seemed and given the fact that HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death in many parts of the world i could not stop wondering how it has savaged society you could mistake the grave yard for a shopping centre on the month end yet this is how busy  it stays every weekend and the costs involved on the families are too much to bear.and looking at the new figures from the UNaids its avery long walk with very few rescources to work with

we all have issue faced  when doing what we are paid to do,and in this case every one faces problems when trying to fullfill this and this makes me of the many people that happen to face real issues when at work.

For some time now my area of work has taken me to meet people in this case ladies who mainly sell thier body parts to make a living i prefer that term b’se its a bit decent and not very dehumanising like the term many people prefer using when refering to this group of people.

As i was closing for work two days ago my cell phone rings and at the other end of the line was detective Andre from the police service asking me to go to the police station and record a statement at first i thought he had mixed up the numbers so i had to cross check with him,he was calm and he explained the reasons to me

Sir for the past six months some under cover officers have been investigating a group of ladies around this city for sex related offenses and as u know its not legal for women to peddle thier bodies  for money and you know what my next question was, how do i fit into this Sir,aleast among the 15 people we arrested today three of them have your cell number and two refered to u as ‘first choice” and one as “client”as soon as he finished the statement i burst out loud and laugh  and told him i will come but not today since it late and i can only appear with my lawyer for incase i needed her great said the officer and hung up the phone.

So on friday i call my lawyer to come and take  me to the station so i can  record my statement around about quater past ten in the morning we got there and i was taken through the questioning

The detective asked me why people doing such business had my cell phone,i explained that for the past two year i have had contact with them based on my line that our first contact was to do with a study we did on behalf of the city in relation to primary health care and since then i have ditrubuted health related materials to them hence thier refering to me as first choice or client and it had nothing more than that

Just after 30 min of questioning the detective decided to end it since my statement  was in agreement with what the ladies had stated when questioned about my numbers

Then my lawyer asked him if he was to let the ladies go as well to which he said earning moneyfrom sex is an offense and you can only get bail from the courts for them  i was not into the ladies as at that time but the lawyer picked saw the need to ask further questions how about the under cover officer are u going to charge them for buying sex as well No madam the sex offenses act is very clear on this one its not a crime to buy sex but its a crime to sell sex and this was her last go at the poor man

If  sex trade is a crime who are the real victim

Katine water carrier girl 300x180

Just for u to know there is 1.3 billion people with out access to clean water world wide

It does not matter where you where born either in semi-urban settings like K’la or my rural village of Kasozi (yeah thats my rural home), we all have some days basket depending on the trend of life we lead in such areas i.e for young person in the semi-urban setting his dream some day would be driving the best model of a BMW and for rural one going hunting and coming home with five or six Nguluwe’s from a days hunt

My work gets me to meet young people almost every day and its great hearing them talk about some day and by the end of the day’s some day session it does hit me  i know when today is,I known when yesterday was i even know when tomorrow will be but when is someday for far too many people some day is like the Elusive LRA  that may never come could some day be today or the day after my funeral.

In my some day basket i have things i need to do some day i must get married (and this should happen soon b’se T thinks i’m too old now so i need to save time),some day i will have the one kid some day i will work for a UN hunanitarian aid organization, some day i will be incharge of my silly temper so i can avoid anger management cources and some day i will meet and share space with Madiba oh and i will meet them both  someday my dad and Jesus

We all have a someday basket where we put some of our dreams, even if it’s only in our minds or more importantly, in our hearts. What’s in your someday basket? No matter what it is, we all have one thing in common- we’re going to do these special things on the same day- someday! What a magical day that will be for the world! Everyone on that day will be fulfilling so many dreams that were put on hold for one reason or another. Life as we know it will change for so many of us. Sounds like an exciting time, no?

Well, here’s the coolest part. We get to choose when someday happens. Let me say that again- We get to choose when someday happens! We can make it some far off, unattainable time, or we can seize the day and make someday happen now. Today. Why not take steps to make someday a reality today?

went back and looked at the contents of my someday basket. I know I have the power to make these things happen now. I can make someday today! So, I’m getting married come next year, i have decided to go back to school and study again

Life is waiting for you. So, what are you waiting for check your someday basket move some of the things in your list to things to do now write one thing from your someday basket that you’ll plan today not some day but today

Katine governance background

During the past three weeks the daily monitor has carried several headline stories indicating how there is a plot to have Museveni lock out of his state house and i’n personaly suprised by the act of this news paper reason being Museveni hates this publication i think incuding the people working there from the sweepers who in many cases vote for his Mwavument to the editor in chief of that publication and my thinking would be for the monitor to not let the cat out of the bag on plans to have him out of power and i’m waiting to hear from him if he will ever refer to them as anti-developmet or in his next state of the nation adress he will wave this paper in praise of them just keep to this blog i will bring u the issue as the came up Ba-mf’ethu

Afew weeks ago one of the pastor in this new foud cult called terms and in this case the fourth one linked some few members of the Mwavument Clan to a plot to have the president miss out on his fourth cake and with out giving names he hinted that they all came from the west which is just common sense to all of us that if a revolt with in the Mwavument will start it should be from the generals in this case the largest  number is from the west so that was just some idiot rhetoric from the chief pastor as he is always known for many of those towards elections

And the monitor today carried a lead story quoting a source that attended a meeting between the president and the Mp from the East the reason why he is meeting the Mp is just simple he still enjoys a block of votes that could swing him into power unlike in the central and the west where its expected he will share the votes with so many other parties,When a question was put to him about his fourth term bid he was cought flat footed which lead him to first giving the right answers then changing to a long sermon onhow u cant swim with out water but thanks to the monitor he can now test the water even if its not much for him to swim and his lead singer can now begin working on thier rural voters since its official once asked he will be around to lead the country into more poverty and abuse by state security agents

We all know that delegates determine who leads the parties into general elections and the Mwavument is no different only that if delegates are allowed to do the nomination from thier branches would be much better rather than when at the conferance and under presure and if there is a move to outcast him by the said group they all have my support its only best to have Museveni defeated with in his part than outside and this is based on simple reason state security will no mistreat its own supporter and they can through thier many contacts have access to information which will be of value to them and since he has came clean i guess they should also come out of the hinding and start reaching out to the many delegates in time and avoid political retribution from him once it happens too late
