The English native speaker, I would like to emphasize the word native because I’ not one of them and I have never attempted to learn the depth of the language like some other people have done but in all fairness I can effectively communicate thanks to my teacher at the Bantu school I attended many years ago

The reason I raise this in this platform is because I have been looking at words or a word to describe two people of different background and because of my limitation with the language I managed only to get stooge which means a person who is under the control of the other it goes on to say being called a stooge is an insult and I have no reason to insult anyone but on my wish list was to find a word that can best describe both John Nagenda and Ofuno Opondo both leading candidates for being under the control of the chairman of the NRM-O I have used chairperson because their deployments into their respective structures are political rather than qualification.

I would have wanted to look in detail at the life and characters of the two gentle men but I shall only zero to John Naganda who a few weeks ago made news headlines with a stinging attack of his political mentor which took every body by surprise I’m sure including the appointing authority but the non surprise element was his continued use of his rich knowledge of the queen’s language to describe people he has disagreements over tactics and strategy but that is vintage Naganda for years he has used his articles in the government-owned newspaper to insult any individual or group of people who dare raised an issue about the leadership style of the Chairperson and at some extent becoming personal the likes of Mike Mabbike and Tamale mirundi recently can attest to this years ago the Good John describe him as a bar tender who should keep it to service tots rather than engage in issues of politics he knows nothing about and in his article he described Tamale as a spoilt brat but here is a simple insight why he treats people the way he does

Mao-zedong wrote “ there is a serious tendency towards capitalism among well to do peasants and he was referring to people like John since he comes from a background that treated less privileged people like trash and his long time association with the colonialist he is a modern-day colonial master the difference is the skin and people who have worked with his ISP company would agree to this he has no regard for any human being that did not attend Kings collage, whose background is that of a working class parents like Tamale or Mabbike he grew up in a home that looked at less privileged people as sub-human whose opinion can only be responded to with insults and that’s the kind of legacy he carries with him even ever he goes

For years he hang on his useless job which he carried out through the new vision simply because the chairperson enjoyed his verbose approach to real issues with the change in the media world from newsprint to social media the old John finds himself isolated and taking it out on people around the chairperson one of them being Tamale rater than blaming it on his failed bid to adopt to new changes.

Bottom line is you acted like the real peasant when u took the role of praise singer all the years you insulted any Ugandan who rose above-board instead of encouraging debate you laid the foundation of non response from the chairperson because each time people attempted to reach out to him many did not escape the power of your pen and tongue I’m sure it’s too late to evolve just keeping the stooge life style gets your bills paid why not keep the status quo

Some time ago I wrote on my blog after the bombings the finals of 2010 FIFA world cup and the article caused an out cry from people visiting my blog site. People who know me and have lived with me in some parts of the East Africa can bear witness to this I have such a huge connection to both Somalis and Muslims in fact my family shared an apartment building with one of the high profiled Muslim in that town for years we become one single family and some of their practices rubbed off to me I do not drink, smoke or eat pork all thanks to their influence on our family even one of my cousin would attend Eid prayers with his age mates such was the connection the family shared owing to that I guess I own them an apology for the defamatory and emotional approach I took when engaging with the issue at hand

Up on reflection and after reading my very blog I took a conscious decision to post an apology on the some of the lines in that post or the whole post depending who the reader is this I do in honor of that family whose trust, love and care I broke, To my girlfriend whose religious ideology I trashed both in part and to some extent in totality and to my Somali friends it was wrong of me to describe your body shapes and attempting to find solutions that continued to offend your personalities as a whole and failure of my part to understand that extremism is never a cross cutting issue when it comes to the Somali community and that millions of the very same Somalia’s have been affected by such acts on daily basis for the last twenty years. On that part I take full responsibility and would in future read more on religious extremism as means of understanding the broader issue of religious extreme.

On the Gay issue I might have come out radically charged but I was seeking to raise debate about their taking part in an election which in the end could decide their fate once again it came off as an attack on their rights I’m not entirely homophobic as the post seeks to reflect on me and I would not understand what it means to be gay but I know for sure my experience as a black person in the capitalist white run economy I know what it means if some one is excluded or exposed to judgment and I withdraw all my statements about the gay community in Uganda I shall not do any reading about what inspires them or try to understand their feelings but i will stay off the subject matter out of respect for every humanity. This is a free world and sadist expression do not have a place in the global village

Apparently at the advent of social media space we all did not worry about what we said or posted because we thought it was so esotheric since there was no legal requirements or boundaries

But I’m not to be driven by fear that what i post today will come back during the times i least expect it I’m a firm believer now or call me a social media evangelist if you have lived in that part of the East Africa Kivenjere and i would stand on the same length thou our beliefs differ in many ways

We all know that men worth the ground they stand on take responsibility for what they say,do and in this case post on the social media platforms and if you think there is no case for owning up your word then this is not for you in 2008 elections in the US the social media delivered the first black president in the USA with his Yes we can beaming all over the world if he has lived up to his words thats a story for another day

In the same breath the Arab spring arrived via the social media and from Yemen to Syria down to Egypt and Libya change and hope was as a result of such platforms and there is no doubt in my mind that the leadership that fell short of their requirement from the masses hate the social media platform and some have called the would be addicts rats and kids on substance only to find themselves at the exit

But there is another aspect of social media that has never been fully exploited its ability to connect people for the real reason the platforms were created for which is love and this is where your truly belongs i have not changed governments, closed a business deal but after years of nursing my addiction in this space i found love given the hours we spend exchanging chats and text messages i feel as if this person is behind my pc or in the next room

Last week i picked up my phone to call my aunt and share the news since she is old school she could not understand how and where we met and if this seemingly non-physical relationship had any hope of growing but i explained to her that social net work relationships have the hallmarks of the stone age type of relationship where the parents from both sides arranged the marriage for only the girl to meet her husband on the day of the wedding but twist it around in this case the would be couples take charge of the situation and working out their difference is much quicker and better i hope she understood

Bottom line is I’m in love and borrowing the lines from the run away bride because I know she will read this

I can guarantee you it’s not going to be simple

I can guarantee one of us will want to jump out of it but I can guarantee i will live to regret if I do not do this

The busy season is upon us for some parts of the world its days to the thanks giving but in the East African country of Uganda is more than a festival season its time to change leadership from the president to the local division chairpersons who are the coal face of government and the masses of our people at their kind’st leisure listen and ask questions to the candidates who will only be available untill after election from there on it’s by appointment or other wise.

Joining the race to serve the masses of our people and change of how things are done is one white person who has for many years provided health care to the masses of our people who belong to the elite class only to discover that broader society has no access to quality health care making health only of his target areas, You will note i have refused to refer to him by his Kiganda name b’s once you are of that tribe there things you must do i wonder if the good Dr will be willing to behave like Baganda men do when his Royal highness graces his presence midst his division having said that i find it offending that for all the years he has been around he can’t speak any of the local lingo which makes communication to the masses of our people difficult so unless other wise i do not think people should vote you in, you can serve them but not as a political leader.

And the race for Kampala mayorship hots up first one of the candidates is said to have less than the required qualifications to run the city which makes Saya better than him.But i have a firm view about all the candidates they are thugs in different shape and side and since people have taken to Twakowa status the important thing is service delivery people need leadership that will seek their view bring them on board the solution in the city will come from the masses you have all the papers local government is a collective effort.

Its common knowledge I’m a rank and file member of the movement but have suspended my membership due to personal, the flag bearer of this great revolution seems to have lost the direction to the promised land just like we all know in the old testament of what happened To me he speaks not if he does not look into the seeds of the time and say which grains will grow and which will not the bone of contention is his when he told people in the north of free education at high school level with all due respect Comrade president the other sectors of education are on death-bed u cant just add up back logs, yeah this is what happens when constructive debate is mift in the movement you have become such a leader who speaks but never talk.

I’m going to do justice and write about one more candidate the Good doctor first he believes in term limits so we hope this is the last we see him the other under doing is the looks he has failed to win voters who vote along the lines of beauty coupled with his voice he should try another career as a traditional healer but all that is besides the point at issue the issue is him raising the issue of cash found in the home of Saleh’s daughter it’s not only stupid but counter productive the masses want to hear the change you promise in detail.

This is to you my gay brothers a few months ago there was a bill before parliament and hell broke loose you went about making your gay noise which also led even Desmond Tutu to say some thing now is the chance for you to ask questions about your idiotic practice of bestiality to use the bible words get your useless gay community in order before it’s too late we will not be ready to see your gay tantrums in the streets you can call us names but being gay is not a feeling it’s just a public relations issue for low self esteem twarts.

Despite the second week running in this elections the spin doctors have not done such a great job for their candidates but whoever wins the next general elections the wish of our masses is to see you use the mandate effectively to root out the mafia-like cartel and allow MP legitimately do their work when dealing with untouchable, semidivine mafias.

Let me begin by congratulating you upon your fouth nomination as a leader of our great land and becoming one of the many leader of this great continent who have held on to thier seat violently or peacefully i’m using both words in the same sentance bacause upon your being declared candidate yesterday you addressed the media present and you used the phase” I have been fighting for freedom both peacefully and violently at the same time”; and one wonders what you meant but thats another dabate for another day.

I’m inspired by your new energy to making every one rich across the length and breath of our motherland with this new programme “Bonna Bagagawale” prosperity for all which enjoys support from all regions of our land and it goes to show that you have become a new type of leader not the one who always speaks but never talks but still comrade president and leadership collective you are not spot on Ugandans do no want to be rich they just want to afford a better living being of the socialist background you know better what constitutes a living but knowing that you are almost reaching your sell by date i will refresh your mind and the entire leadership collective such that you can all sing from the same page during this presidental elections .

Ugandans would during this presidental election hear you put more emphasis on effectively dealing with the issue of public health this is a basic reqirement for any progressive soceity especially the one you are trying to build the cost of treatment in Uganda is not affordable to many masses of our people except for the few people whom you have made so rich that cough and flu is treated in world class health institutions abroad i’m raising this bacause i have experinced this first during the past weeks when my beloved mother spent days in one of your public hospitals and doctors would first make sure you have the money before any treatment is offered and people like me with big families are blessed because its the only major souces of income we engaged in a quick Nigina scheme to have the old lady get the best care she needed.

Before you move on to providing free toilets to people in the capital city deal with the issue of job creation put your head on the block to build a new economic growth path that would provided jobs to all ugandans irrespective of their geographical back ground with hight level of unemployment in one area and full employment on to another you have managed to create two types of society the very rich who can afford themselves and the aparthied style of labour force that only work to feed and visit the toilets hance the elite in your circle finding it important to have toilets added into your elections business and to be honest with you Mr president its cheap talk it goes along way in showing how many of the peasants around you have disconnected themselves from the masses of our people.

On Education Mr President thanks for carrying out a effective role of keeping the aparthied style of education going i’m scared you took an active role in ending aparthied only to keep some of its worst policies alive today we have Bantustan type of education the big number of your public schools in rural areas are not coping with large number as students who are not able to read and write thier names with poorly motivated teachers whose families are bearly hanging on well as on the other side of the divide you have well oiled schools i’m sure some of your gradi kids ready for school happen to attend such schools but we all know you do not need any qualifications to ride a boda boda which is the largest employing industry in Uganda today but days are comming comrade president when the masses will revolt aganist such Bantu stand type of education you are offering and u must remind of June 16th 1976 having done that i would like as well to take this opportunite to thank you for being the first African leader with a revolutionary background to create an effective aparthied state complete with all the hall marks of PK Botha’s goverment.

The big number of your votes come from rural areas and this time the focus should be rural development the masses of our people have been destroyed by poverty in some parts of rural area that its taking an emotional toll on to them the recent discovery of jigger infected people in the East is a clear indication of how our people’s emotions have been reduced to rabble they have lost all thier life’s worth as the govement looks on thier plight only comes to the table during voting periods take a close look at the rural areas and ask your self if your notion of prosperity for all is working your idea of Banna bagagawale does not compliment the social status of the people i wonder who is left out on enrichment that you need to help with a quick fix.

Comrade President i know you are such a busy person and i would like to end it here for today but before i do allow me do one thing quote you some thing from one great author Sun Tzu from his book the art of war i’m very sure you have seen this quote and used it many time but i will quote it again “Military tactics are like into water for water in its natural course runs away from high places and hastens downwards water shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows the soldier works out his victory in relation to the foe whom he is facing therefore just as water retains no constant shape so in warfare there no constant conditions “We are all holding our breath waiting to see the modification in the next years general elections.

The new trend now in the movie industry is animated movies and if you are the type that dates the coconuts you should be able to talk animation during the date or you will find your romantic life in the wonderland just like many coaches found out after their poor performance at the 2010 FIFA world cup.

You must be wondering why animation its because the scenes of the double bombing in Uganda over the weekend as people where watching the FIFA 2010 world cup finals looked more like a cut and pest from one of the animated movies and you are watching it from high definition television but that was reality before every Ugandan and the international community.

The country and the international community was reminded of September 11th as images of dead bodies and injured people beamed on television channels all over the world the pearl of Africa had once again given in to its aggressors and the Youth in Somalia the Al-shabaab where very quick to claim responsibility and issue fresh warnings that unless Ugandan troops withdraw from the land of their forefathers the worst is yet to come amidst all this I remembered the famous quote loved by one of the great struggle icon the late O.R Tambo “tell no lie , claim no easy victory. “

The Al-shabaab claim the reason for the attack on peace loving Ugandan going about their day to day business is based on the premise that their troops are not welcome to into their home land but what those skinny homosapiens who need some pork ribs and vegetables to gain weight did not explain to us is why not attack the forces based closer to them because this was calculated to enable them attract media all over the world and send Ugandans panicking and their claim to fight a holy is just being economical with the truth because amongst the dead we have Muslims as well.

Killing people in the name of Allah to them means purification and a sure deal to heaven which scares heaven bound people like me who imagine the extremists blowing them selves up during the first meeting with Jesus as that will be the biggest gathering of non-Muslim I think just like FIFA does it we should as non-Muslim begin to think of plan B when we come together to celebrate the re-union just as we need to isolate them here on earth since they have no regard for human life we should exclude them as well and let them live in their extreme world not doing business with any of the ever sick looking maroons would weaken their financial abilities and lessen their threat to the real world making them come to reality of living in this world.

I hate xenophobic tendencies and that explains why I have always welcomed them in my home and visited their home, shared meals with them as well this is how far I have lived with my Somali brother both born in Uganda and those born in Somalia and I have great found memories with many of them during my school days, But the ones born in Somalia raise a different issue that would explain the reason for bombing and this is of moral nature. They have whenever we engaged accused Ugandan troops of having a huge sex appetite for their slender sisters this to them is beyond the call of duty for Ugandans and offends both their cultural and moral fiber on which their society is built on and would take it up themselves to force the exit of those people who keep their fore skinned dicks exposed to their sister day and night and that’s the real bottom line for their hate and animosity towards the Ugandan populace

I’m sure as they reflect on their criminal deeds, the young people or youth (Al-shabaab) will understand that those they harmed were human beings, with the same fears, anxieties and aspirations that they have and killing them in the name of Allah was just a scapegoat to fulfill their criminal deeds.

Its been a while since I wrote some thing on this blog and I’m sure many would assume I have decided to let go of my new found love I guess I’m not but been taken up by the Ayobaness of this world especially the world cup which has seen African black, white Indians and colored taking pride in being African.

As we all enjoyed the moment my attention was turned to the subject of forced marriage many people would wonder why bring up such an issue during the busiest month of this continent but this was never a subject of my own making rather drawn into it by a documentary I watch on one television channel taking about forced marriages known as Tjhabediso in some language.

For many people born towards the end of the 19thcentury and in urban centres with sophisticated parents (coconut) Tjhabediso would be a very complex subject and incomprehensible to them but I would try and explain how it was done in very simple terms so as to avoid sophism, Once the boy felt was of right age to get married he would identify a girl around the village of course such girls usually would be in good standing order both morally and with good cultural values during that time he would pay the girl’s family a visit with a friend usually this happened when the parents of the girl where away and over a period of time as the girl is used to the visitation and evening village stroll the move to strike is hitched the boy would organized a few of his comrades (gents) and stage them along their path as soon as the couple enters the surrounded zone the operation is carried out with military precision this is was done to avoid any rescue happening from the girls family.

This was the practice in the African tradition for many tribes from Cape to Cairo and today just a few tribes still run with that form of art when finding a wife to many women rights activities my mum included Tjhobediso represented the worst form of women abuse this world has ever known and both the promoters and support of this practice should best be described as male chauvinists.

Have been blushing and smiling alone and my imaginations ran wild seeing my self on the busy Kampala Road waiting on my prey and as soon as the traffic volume is high me and my comrades we would pounce on our target and she will be screaming and kicking in tight fitting jeans as the male crowd gather to offer more support next time I will let u know why its worth going the Tjhobediso way

“No profound and popular movement in all history has taken place without its share of filth, without adventurers and rogues, without boastful and noisy elements ruling party inevitably attacks careerists” this is a quote from Vladimir Lenin and I’m borrowing it to illustrate the extent of corrupt elements in the NRM.

The reason why I use the quote above is that it’s the best thing from a communist which would bring about a conclusive meaning to the state of affairs in the ruling NRM.

Some time back in this very blog I wrote about the need for the ruling movement to combat liberalism which was eating up all its leadership structures from the village level to the national and just few months away from the NSSF saga has exposed all elements in the movement as illustrated by Vladimir Lenin

The NRM cadres have been found to be out of line on two issues that have rocked the country recently one being the arrest of the Buganda Kingdom minister and now the new hot seat candidate is the general secretary said to have sold his land over and above the normal price which any human being would have done give the chance but since during their policy meetings NRM delegates do more of city touring than engage in real policy issues separation of power between the executive and their party leadership did not come to any conclusive meaning finding themselves with a jack of all traders as the general secretary, an MP, minister of defense and a business man who in many cases sounds like he is beyond reproach

The comments made by the chairman to Members of his movement that he will fight rebel members after the parliament was forced into a special session during the saga when Buganda cabinet ministers where arrested show how much gap is between the Executive of the movement and its ordinary party card carrying members and the chairman would know better that the liberal conditions created by him would encourage cadres of the movement advance their personal ambition rather than party and if I was a senior member of the movement I would be worried by such comments because that’s how USSR was disintegrated by just one word from then leader of the ruling party

The NRM has had to win many battles from the old bush war to changing the constitution thou the changes damaged many people along the line but the NRM won the fight this has always been achievable as a collective, but the NSSF issue that involves the general secretary seems like the moment people have been waiting for, true they might survive as a party the will wait as it will be reflected in the general elections but individuals are going to pay the price and how much price is one willing to pay for his or her party where individual merit counts is another days talk

But for the party to gain urban confidence which is elusive to them should quickly move to

Have the general secretary removed this is not to pre-empty the on going parliamentary processes but to ensure that some one take over as the new acting general secretary on full time basis and can effectively unite members of the movement

This will be an effective signal that the ruling party is ready to fight corrupt elements even with in their ranks and would send clear signals that its time to do what the book of Luke:12:8 says “To whom much is given Much is expected” they always claim receiving majority votes the people’s expectation is much service delivery of basic services.

For this life we celebrate today, I’ve borrowed the words used by Cain when the lord asked him where Abel is thy brother.”

As you will remember, Cain answered, I know not am i’ not my brother’s keeper, it would seem to me that the tragedy death that confronted us that evening presented to us the challenge to answer the question am I my brother’s and sister’s keeper?

Dad was a wonderful human being, I’m certain that the thought would never have occurred to him that he could be anything except his brother’s ,sister’s and children’s keeper he spent all his life’s worth as a royal family member who treated every one with deserving respect

As we celebrate his life we can say with out fear of contradiction is that he was a scholar, an intellectual, and a teacher immensely cultured person with no trace whatsoever of arrogance, of self-importance, a rare leader who rose from a humble background to become one of the best in the education sector

First it was hour, to days and now its years we you went to rest and you never again woke up that moment made all of us look like Abel because we could not answer to the question since we cant not tell what happened when you got into that bedroom like Abel we still bear the pain of not answering the question with out contradiction

But I would love to let you know how we are doing dad because a lot has happen while you are gone and I will begin with your loving wife who has now retired from the civil service it would have been nice for you to share this time with her since she would have become a full time house wife but since you are gone she decided to use her spare time for adult education programme in her community and she is still the saved person you always known her to be

The big man who took over from you dad is married with a son so that would make u utate mukhulu and he has dedicated all his life to the wellbeing of disfranchised communities it taking him places and I guess you would take pride in his work

Me as always I have less to write home about since I’m still very single but my temper has improved I have done anger management course and learnt that dialogue is much better than boiling off my head all the time and some times u don’t have to fight to be a man I guess I accepted that too late oops dad one more thing I’m not the small boded arrogant man but I have grown to be gentle

For your daughter she got married with two kids and doing well in business that explains why u would be a busy utate mukhulu and I’m sure the miss the hug and all the love from you, James also got married with a very jolly daughter funny thing thou I have not seen the gal since I have been away ever since she was born but I will soon make the journey home to meet her

The last one Paul who never got to share life moments with you is now a grown man working with one credit bank his missing you was much displayed on his graduation day and he still talking about you dearly but between me and Robert we have played the fatherly figure you should have been around to see how gentle he has become

Like we all have someday basket and I’m sure all of us keep this in our some day basket to meet you and ask you the questions we have always wanted you to answer hopefully the reunion will fill up the missing link.

May you keep resting in peace.

This weekend was equally a cold one and as i have always done decided to stay inside the house for Friday evening and the whole part of saterday, during that time i spent hours watching rugby and chating with my online friends both in the monitor chat and my yahoo messager yes u had me right i’m always into that chat simply because i have friends who i think i should link up with once in a while.

But one young lady (not under age thou) but a young adult i have not hard from since march came online and after we exchanged greetings we got on with a general chat about life asked her if she is already at school no i’m not yet school opens in august and i’m looking forward to it thou i’m not sure what i would want to study at the moment.

i have always wondered i have been a suspected of being married but i just keep on refusing to accept that i’m married so she asked me how is my wife to which and i informed her that i have no wife yet and for the record people i would openly state it when i do get married that i’m married b’se its some thing i think every one would take pride in so i’m still not married but will be soon and since she knows i have a bit of a temper she let go of such and we kept talking.

and soon the talk went down to God this young adult asked me if i do not think is God and creation story was a whole make of some people some where and we needed to think out side the box about it for once i was shocked reason people in thier 20s call me old fashioned but would not think of such, thier thinking would always be around that new song from thier loved singers, buying ipods not taking it to the level of creation of investiging the whole creation story.and for once she asked me what my thinking was and to be honest i have openly refused to think outside the box i would hate to question alot of things less i find myself questioning why i have no tail

But her argument was simple if he decided to create me in his own image and afforded me the brains its just enough for me to think outside the box and question some of the many issues around me.

we might be young , but how many time in our lives do we take that effort to think outside the box and how do u manage this form of thinking bacause at times u might be at risk thinking like one groom who decided to organised his people to mug his Abokhoni (Negotiator)and is group this happened as the group was headed to the bride’s side this past weekend

As the Abokhoni where on thier way to the girls side a group of thugs intercepted Interestingly, the thugs did not waste time searching all six of them

They went straight to the guy who carried the booty, making off with the money. Curious, the other members of the party thought as they later sat down to review the day’s events. How had the criminals known who was carrying the money?

It transpired that the groom, who had stayed at home while his emissaries went about their mission, as per tradition, had masterminded the mugging. He had told the thugs that the man with the money would be wearing a white coat

But there are limits, brothers. Robbing lobolo of its dignity is like a Jew urinating inside the synagogue, or a Seventh Day Adventist drinking alcohol on the Sabbath, or a Muslim eating pork inside the mosque. Peace, hope u manage thinking out side the box with your heart rather than head
